HUNDREDS of automobiles abandoned by soldiers have been left to rot in a forest in Belgium for decades.
The small Belgian town of Châtillon had 4 sprawling car graveyards with 500 rusting automobiles from the 1950s and 1960s.




Deep in the woods, basic Pontiac Chieftains and Ford Thunderbirds have been slowly claimed by nature.
An extended line of deserted automobiles ran via woodland showing like a visitors jam – with rusting bonnets and dented bumpers strewn throughout the forest.
It's believed the graveyards began to emerge at the end of World Warfare Two when US soldiers – unable to afford to ship their automobiles house – dumped them within the forest.
Others consider Canadian troops stationed at bases near Châtillon within the mid-1950s then left more automobiles within the forest.
The time is referred to as a "golden period" for the world – with the troops bringing masses of cash and enormous American automobiles.
At its peak, it's thought there have been around 500 motors scattered round Châtillon – one of many oldest villages in Belgium – and within the forest.
Urban explorers found a jackpot of classic cars once they visited the forest.
A 1953 Ponticac Chieftainm Renault Dauphine, Studebaker Champion and a Ford Thunderbird have been found buried in mud and shrubbery.
However the final of the graveyards have been cleared in 2010.
Collectors have been flocking to take elements for salvage and souvenirs – and a court order saw the automobiles cleared out for environmental reasons.

It comes after a family discovered a vintage car graveyard in their late grandad's warehouse.
Royce Kershaw Junior had a forgotten practice and a penny-farthing stashed away amongst his prized possessions.
The hidden fortune was unveiled by his beloved one's after deciding it was time to trawl by way of his belongings.
Contained in the previous warehouse, they discovered 50 basic automobiles – with most of them being basic American models.
Elsewhere,& a collection& of stunning vintage vehicles was discovered in a remote& woodland& by an urban explorer, who posted the footage to& YouTube.
A few of the automobiles within the area have been so rare that mint-condition models can solely be present in museums.
And a shocking collection of abandoned basic automobiles& was also discovered in the grounds of an old mansion.
Scott Chivers, who goes by the identify of Ratarossa on YouTube, was given exclusive entry to the "automotive graveyard" by the owner of the property.
