Austin Butler has one phrase to explain the set of Dune: Part Two: scorching.

"It was 110 levels and so scorching," Butler, 32, stated of his first day on set during an interview with Entertainment Weekly posted on Wednesday, February 20.

"I had the bald cap on, and it was between two soundstages that have been simply these gray bins of 200-foot partitions and sand," he explained. "It turned like a microwave. There were individuals passing out from warmth stroke. And that was just my first week."

Butler's very first scene on the Dune sequel was a gladiator match involving his character Feyd-Rautha as he battles fighters to prove he ought to be his uncle's inheritor, happening on Harkonnen's house planet of Giedi Prime.

"It really bonds the complete crew," Butler added. "There's one thing so humbling about being in such an uncomfortable setting."

Director Denis Villeneuve, for his half, says the circumstances making both Dune and Dune: Part Two have been "so harsh" that he and his staff have been grateful that they cut up up filming.

"Each films have been made in very harsh circumstances, and it's very bodily taxing, so to have a break in between them was a blessing," the filmmaker informed ET. "My first thought was to shoot both films back to again together, but now I feel I might have died. It was really intense, and seeing how the world reacted to 'Half One' was a lift of constructive power to go back into the desert."

In terms of moving into character, Butler made positive to pay shut attention to how Stellan Skarsgård, who plays Baron Harkonnen, spoke in the unique Dune movie.

"I felt that as a result of he grew up with the Baron, the Baron can be an enormous affect on him in some ways," Butler stated of nailing his character's voice. "So then I began desirous about the best way that he speaks, and that being linked to the person who you see with probably the most power from the time that you simply're a toddler, who you do end up emulating ultimately."

The Golden Globe winner is understood for his intensity in the direction of vocal appearing. After starring in 2022's Elvis, the actor made waves for altering his natural voice to at least one that resembles the King of Rock n' Roll.

He addressed his tendency to slip into Elvis's accent in a June 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight, saying it's one thing he "can't management."

"At this point, I maintain asking individuals, 'Is that this my voice?' because this seems like my actual … It's a type of issues where sure things trigger it," he stated. "Whenever you stay with something for 2 years and you do nothing else, I feel which you could't assist it. It turns into a fiber of your being."
