A Christmas Story is about a 9-year-old boy named Ralphie living in Indiana during the 1930s/40s, and all Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB gun. Unfortunately, all the adults around him think this is not a suitable gift for a boy his age, and they warn him that he will shoot his eye out. Despite the adults' warning he might hurt himself, Ralphie still got a Red Ryder B.B. Gun on Christmas morning and did, in fact, hurt himself. But, when Ralphie reminisces about this Christmas, he describes it as the best Christmas ever.
