JUST over three decades ago, Daniel Stern appeared as the hilarious burglar Marv Murchins in 1990 Christmas classic Home Alone \- and he looks completely unrecognisable these days. With Christmas now just days away, many will be opting to watch their favourite festive flicks, with Home Alone at the top of the pile.

Daniel starred in Netflix's Game Over, Man! The family film tells the story of a rambunctious eight-year-old who has to protect his house from two burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during the Christmas holidays. Daniel, 64, played Harry's criminal accomplice, Marv Merchants, and was on the pursuit to rob the family home blind. The star of stage and screen rejoined the cast of the film for Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Since then, he continued working as a voice actor and narrated the hit series The Wonder Years until its finale in 1993. Before Home Alone, he appeared in other movies including Stardust Memories, Hannah and Her Sisters, and City Slickers. Now, he's continued to act as well as direct and write. Most recently, he starred in Netflix's Game Over, Man! A comedy and action film which was released in 2018. Throughout his career, Daniel was offered the role of Dale Gribble in the cartoon series King of the Hill. But, he was replaced by Johnny Hardwick when the agreement of his salary went too low. The star has had steady work in film and television since the 90s and most recently guest-starred in Aidy Bryant's Hulu series, Shrill as well as the award-winning film James vs. His Future Self. Meanwhile, co-star Joe Pesci who played Harry Lime went on to star in films such as Casino, Gone Fishin' and Lethal Weapon 4 in 1998. Even though the star decided to give Hollywood a break and take retirement, he made a brief return when he starred in Love Ranch in 2010. Director and long-term friend Martin Scorsese managed to persuade the actor to return to the screen once again for 2019's The Irishman which aired on Netflix. Whereas, Macaulay Culkin who appeared as the adorable Kevin McCallister has only starred in four movies within the last 20 years. However, Culkin did appear in the double billing of American Horror Story as Mickey, a drug addict and gay prostitute.
